Stroke disease has become one of the highest death rate causes either in Indonesia or globally. Stroke has an impact on the decreasing physical health, psychosocial, and also degradation of cognitive functions. The post-stroke patient needs pharmacology and non-pharmacology treatment to increase their life. One of the efforts conducted by post-stroke patients is by applying alternative medicine to fasten the healing process. The traditional medicine used by post-stroke patients in Nias Regency is the legacy of the Nias Tribes culture. This research objective is to describe some  traditionals therapy for the post-stroke patient. The research design used in this study was a qualitative descriptive research design. We selected ten participants using purposive sampling. The data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews. The interview was recorded and transcribed. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi appouch, which consisted of seven stages. The results of data analysis generated three themes, namely,1) the type of traditional therapy used; 2) the benefit they felt in using traditional therapy, and 3) family support in employing traditional therapy. Post-stroke patients attain the benefit of traditional medicine aside from medical treatment.Downloads
