Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a common disorder in women of reproductive age with characteristic physical and mental symptoms during the luteal phase that substantially impair quality of life. About 80% of women of reproductive age experience physical or emotional symptoms before menstruation. 20% of women experience symptoms severe enough to interfere with activities and social life. The prevalence of PMS is around 20-32% in premenopausal women and 30-40% in reproductive women. This riset is To summarize and examine the article (examine article) that related consumption of calcium to its effect on decreased premenstrual syndrome. The author uses a systematic review and meta analysis research design with the Reporting Items For Systematic Review and Meta Analysis Protocol (PRISMA-P) method which is carried out systematically by following the correct stages and protocols and only using the primary study of the Quantitative Randomized Controled Trial (RCT) research. In 817 women who were obtained from 7 research articles regarding the effectiveness of calcium in reducing premenstrual syndrome with calcium intervention and placebo control, the results of the analysis using Revman 5.4 in the form of calcium 0.81 were more influential than placebo. As seen, the calcium group and the placebo group had significant differences in the physical and psychological symptoms of PMS after analysis of -0.81 [95% CI: -0.01 Random effect: -1.64 P = 0.05]. Calcium is 0.81 times more influential than placebo in reducing the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, both physical and psychological symptoms.References
